Welcome to my new blog
Welcome to the blog at bonewitz.net. I’m John Bonewitz. I decided that a blog would be a good way to keep friends and family and students appraised of my projects and musings. It’s good to be online!
This image reminds me of the kind of posters we had up in the classroom when I was in elementary school. What exciting times when the internet was still brand new. I still remember our introduction to the internet in 3rd grade. They rolled in a cart of iBooks and we went one by one to bring one back to our desk. “Make sure that you hold it with two hands” the teacher said as she showed us the little handle that folds out. I still remember being blown away at the wireless internet, provided from the mysterious cone shaped AirPort.
Nostalgia is one of my driving forces these days. I have been quite interested lately in restoring vintage technology and demonstrating it to my students and anyone else that will sit still long enough for me to show them my collection of vintage computers and test equipment. I look forward to making some posts to show my adventures!
